Progress! I’ve made two pillows and 4 sets of bunting (about 1 yd long) featuring my own character designs as interpreted by 5 different artists. I plan to restuff the first pillow to have a more even distribution of stuffing, and to have more available in even more designs (the second set will feature a fat little bird!) soon.

I did a lot of block printing in the morning yesterday, trying to get everyone’s blocks to come out as well as they can. I’m doing a lot of problem-solving now so that I don’t waste the really good fabric I’ll buy for this.
What would you like to receive with a little printed story on it: little flags like bunting to hang up in your room, long throw pillows, a t-shirt, or a table-runner?

I’ve been meaning to share the collaborative project I’ve been working on, but I didn’t have anything other than sketches and notes to show for it until last night, when I had three of my participants came over and made these awesome blocks! I can’t wait to see how the rest will go.
My next step is to hand out materials to those who couldn’t make it last night and then I can show you what I’m doing with these lovely carvings!

Today was such a perfect day! Besides the minor annoyance of being woken up for our local St. Patrick’s Day parade with bad pop music, I had a nice breakfast, went with my roommates to Back in the Day Bakery where I proceeded to buy everything (Chocolate cream pie, cassis soda, a screenprinted tea-towel [pictured above], and a loaf of rosemary ciabatta!), then had tea and water-colored on the porch while chatting. The weather was so nice, and afterwards while everyone napped, I took a shower and then read in my light-filled room as the sun began to set.

I never did share my piece from the Fibers Open Studio! I won’t show the other until I hear back from Lilly Pulitzer, but this one was a huge laser-cut piece based on Savannah architecture and the creeping vines and plants that wrap around it, as well as the art nouveau movement.
Once I get it back from the display, I’ll get some better photos where the lighting is good.
